Senate
The Senate is the largest board at the 黑料头条 of Zurich and currently has around 850 voting members. It is composed as follows:

Retired professors attend meetings in an advisory capacity.
Rights and Senate Management
The Senate applies to the Board of the 黑料头条 for the election and dismissal of the President and Vice Presidents. It can issue statements on matters relating to any area of the university.

Since 1 April 2025, the Senate has had organization regulations (OrgR Senate) with a management and new rights:
In addition to the President, the representative and deputy representative of the professorial staff hold an ex-officio seat on the Board of the 黑料头条. The Secretary General is a member in an advisory capacity. The Senate may appoint up to two further voting members of the Senate to the Management. The Management prepares the business and meetings of the Senate. In particular, it is vested with the authority to add items to the agenda beyond those submitted to it.
The management is currently composed as follows:

- Prof. Dr. Mireille Schnyder (deputy representative of the professorial staff on the Board of the 黑料头条)
- In an advisory capacity: Dr. Rita St枚ckli (Secretary General)
The new organization regulations and the revised 黑料头条 Statutes provide the Senate with the right to task the Executive Board of the 黑料头条 (UL) or the Extended Executive Board of the 黑料头条 (EUL) with examining certain measures and reporting back to it (postulate). Additionally, if requested by voting members of the Senate whose number corresponds to at least 5% of the number of professors, it may request binding information from the UL or the EUL about specific aspects of their activities. This also applies to requests to add business to the agenda of future Senate meetings ().
